Nakuru(Mogadishu24)-At least 45 people were on Monday morning died and over 100 others were rescued after tragic dam collapse in Maai Mahui town in Nakuru County following heavy rainy floods swept away buildings according to police. Nakuru County Police Commander, Samuel Ndanyi told local media that 45 more bodies were recovered from the destroyed houses and buried in the mud, saying most of them were women and children and elderly people who could not escape.The death could rise any time and rescue efforts continue according to police.This incident comes hours after the 20 passengers were confirmed dead and most of 30 others still stranded after their boat capsized at Punda area in Tana River county near Garissa city, northeastern Kenya.“There was a boat accident that occurred yesterday at Bangale Sub-County in Tana River County. At around 1830 hrs, the boat from Lamu ferrying approximately 43 people, capsized at the Kona Punda flooded section. 22 people have been rescued and are receiving treatment at Bura Tana hospital and”, Kenya Government Spokesperson, Dr. Isaac Maigua Mwaura said in a statement.
