Djibouti(Mogadishu24)-Djibouti Ports and Free Zones Authority on Wednesday welcomed an esteemed Egyptian delegation , led by His Excellency Khaled Fadi Mahamoud El Shazli, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Djibouti, and Mr. Essam Kechek, Vice President of the Egyptian Civil Aviation Authority. The delegation met with Djibouti officials to discuss the potential expansion of the sea-air cargo model developed by the Khor Ambado Free Zone, with the incorporation of EGYPTAIR Cargo.This collaboration marked a significant milestone in the growth of the sea-air cargo initiative, which aims to optimize logistics and improve cargo movement efficiency across the region. Under the new arrangement, EGYPTAIR Cargo will operate flights to Djibouti every two weeks as part of the sea-air cargo framework.The Chairman of Djibouti Ports and Free Zones Authority expressed enthusiasm about the new partnership.“The inclusion of EGYPTAIR Cargo in our sea-air cargo model represents a significant advancement in our logistics capabilities. We are excited about the opportunities this collaboration brings and are committed to working closely with our Egyptian partners to ensure the success of this initiative,” the Chairman stated.In addition to the cargo flights, EGYPTAIR will commence its inaugural passenger flights to Djibouti on July 11, operating twice a week, further strengthening aviation links between Egypt and Djibouti.This meeting underscores the growing collaboration between Djibouti and Egypt, paving the way for more efficient and integrated transportation solutions across the region. The enhanced connectivity and streamlined logistics are expected to benefit both nations, promoting economic growth and regional integration.
