Djibouti(Mogadishu24)-Djiboutian President, Ismail Omar Guelleh on Wednesday received a high level delegation from Switzerland, led by Ignazio Cassis, Head of the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs, to the Palace of the Republic.

This represents the first-ever official visit by a member of the Swiss government to Djibouti, signaling a milestone in diplomatic relations between the two countries and their talks aimed at enhancing economic, commercial, tourism, and scientific connections, as well as fostering cooperation for regional peace and stability.

Key figures, including Djibouti’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, M. Mahamoud Ali Youssouf, and the Ambassador of Djibouti in Switzerland, Kadra Ahmed Hassan, joined the historic meeting, demonstrating a united front in pursuing shared goals and interests.

This significant visit illustrates both nations’ eagerness to develop a fruitful collaboration, rooted in a lengthy history of diplomatic ties and mutual aspirations for a prosperous partnership.
