Cairo(Mogadishu24)-Somalia’s Education Minister, Farah Sheikh Abdulkadir and Egyptian Higher Education and Scientific Research Minister, Dr. Mohamed Ayman Ashour held an important meeting in Cairo on Wednesday to discuss bilateral cooperation in the education and cultural sectors between the two countries.The Federal Minister expressed gratitude to the Egyptian government for its support to Somali students studying in universities in Egypt. He emphasized Somalia’s readiness to learn from Egypt’s experiences in various fields.“Today, I met with Dr. Ayman Ashour, Egypt’s Minister of Higher Education and Research in Cairo. We discussed the strong relations between our Ministries, and I expressed our appreciation for the scholarships provided to Somali students and the overall support extended to our education sector,” stated Farah Sheikh Abdulkadir, Somalia’s Education Minister.Dr. Ashour, the Egyptian Higher Education Minister, assured his commitment to provide support for Somali students studying in various universities within the country.Somalia and Egypt have previously signed agreements on Education, Heritage, and Communications, as part of the longstanding relationship between the two countries.The meeting was attended by the Somali ambassador to Egypt, as well as the representative of Somalia to the Arab League, Ilyas Sheikh Omar, along with other officials from both countries.
