Former Somali President, Sharif Sheikh Ahmed has on Monday addressed the on-going bloodshed and civil wars in various regions of the country.Speaking during the occasion of the Independence Day on 26th June, Sheikh Ahmed said that the relentless violence and repeated civil conflicts have resulted in widespread injustice within Somalia.“It is painful that today there is a problem in many parts of the country, with Somali blood being needlessly spilled during this sacred month and time,” lamented Sharif Sheikh Ahmed.He further asserted that civil wars and bloodshed are the root causes of injustice and oppression in their midst.“Civil wars and bloodshed are truly the underlying causes of injustice and oppression in our midst,” he added.In light of the situation, he called upon the Somali people and the country’s leaders to take decisive action and put an end to the violence and bloodshed ravaging various cities.President Sharif’s remarks on civil unrest comes as political conflicts and tensions are currently souring in Las’anod, Garowe, Hiiraan and lower Shabelle and Gedo regions.
