Mogadishu(Mogadishu24)-Former Presidents of the Federal Government of Somalia, Sharif Sh. Ahmed and Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo suggested the requirement of necessary and inclusive consultations regarding to on-going changes and amendments into the provisional constitution.The two leaders said in a brief statement after meeting in Mogadishu on Saturday evening that they had a fruitful discussion of the situation of the country, in particular, constitutional review and the political issues.“We agreed to maintain our meetings and consulatations while other politicians and other parts of the community will join participating such gatherings at the same time”, the statement said.The two Presidents strongly oppose the on-going proposed amendments into constitution in which the Federal Parliament is continuing debates, completing the discussion of the first and second chapters in the past six weeks.Their meeting came a day after former President, Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo returned back to the capital Mogadishu after his defeat in the presidential election in 2022.Former Presidents, Farmajo, Sharif Meet to Form Opposition Coalition Post navigationFederal Parliament concludes debate over chapter 2 of proposed amendments of the constitution Somalia, Turkey enhance their relations
