Beledweyne(Mogadishu24)-The Federal Government of Somalia airlifted 16 people with serious wounds from Beledweyne Truck bombing yesterday and brought them in the capital Mogadishu for further treatment.

“Al-Shabaab is committed to kill all the Somali people and it is better to kill them before they kill us”, Abdinasir Shirwac, member of the Federal Parliament said, while receiving the victims at Mogadishu Airport midnight.

Deputy Minister for Health, Dr. Mohamed Hassan Mohamed said that they’re trying their best to have people with serious injuries be treated at main hospitals well, showing grief of the deadly in Beledweyne town in Hiiraan region and Al-Shabaab’s target on civilians.

“We received the wounded from Beledweyne bomb blast tonight at the Mogadishu airport, currently working to deal with the injuries for them to get treatment . We are taken special responsibility for their health care. We stand together and continue to eradicate this horrible AS”, Mohamed said.

Over two dozens of people mostly civilians were on Saturday killed and more than 30 others injured after trucking bombing attack in the center of Beledweyne town in Hiiraan region according to the officials and medical sources. The bombing destroyed residential areas and business centers including two petrol stations in the city.

The Somali President Hassan Sh. Mohamed and his Prime Minister, Hamza Abdi Barre condemned the terrorist attack in Beledweyne yesterday, saying group’s attacks will not deter them from continuing the on-going total offensive operation against Al-Shabaab in the country.

The attack comes as the community in Hiiraan region made progress on the war against Al-Shabaab and liberated eastern parts of the region and it also came as the SNA and local forces intensified the onslaught operation against the group in the south-central Somalia.
