Mogadishu(Mogadishu24)-The Federal Government of Somalia on Friday evening announced that the National Consultative Council meeting, which was scheduled to be held here in Mogadishu today and tomorrow, came to a delay due to technical reasons.

President Hassan sent an invitation to the Presidents of the Federal Member States of Puntland, Jubaland, Southwest, Hirshabelle and Galmudug to attend the National Consultative Council’s Forum which was to be held in the capital on 20 to 21st of April.

The NCC meeting was expected to focus on discussions related to national issues including the fight against Al-Shabaab and the completion of the constitution according to the invitation letter at the time.

But Puntland State rejected the participation of the National Consultative Council’s meeting at the time while other regional states didn’t accept or reject the invitation letter.

Minister of Information for Puntland State in Somalia, Mohamud Aidid Dirir has confirmed that President Said Abdullahi Deni will not be attending the National Consultative Council’s meeting in Mogadishu, instead Puntland State officials held talks with International donors in Nairobi, Kenya in the past two days.

However, the Federal did not set a date for such meeting to happen and it is not known how the Federal and Federal Members States’ leaders could come together and meet as relations between them worsened since the Parliament approved four chapter of the provisional constitution which were amended on March 30, 2024
