Mogadishu(Mogadishu24)-Prime Minister, Hamza Abdi Barre on Wednesday welcomed the new Turkish Ambassador to Somalia, Alper Aktaş, in his office and held discussions centered on enhancing the fraternal ties and collaboration between the two nations.

“The Prime Minister extended his congratulations to Alper Aktaş and expressed his best wishes for a successful tenure. He also conveyed his gratitude towards the Turkish government and its people for their steadfast support of Somalia”, Office of the Prime Minister said on X.

The office added that the Turkish Ambassador emphasized his commitment to fostering the longstanding partnership between Turkey and Somalia.

The Turkish Ambassador to Somalia, Alper Aktaş was among three foreign diplomats who presented their credentials to the President of Somalia on 21st of this month.

Somalia-Turkey relations reached new level of cooperation after signing Security, economic, oil and gas agreements in the past six weeks alone.

“The relationship between #Somalia and #Turkiye has blossomed into a profound partnership, showcasing a blend of diplomatic, economic, and security . The alliance is shaping the future of Somalia and enhancing Turkiye’s strategic presence in the Horn of Africa”, Omar said on X formerly twitter.
