Mogadishu(Mogadishu24)-Minister of Interior of the Federal Government of Somalia, Ahmed Moallim Fiqi on Sunday evening said that the capital Mogadishu enjoyed peace and Security after this week’s terrorist attack on SYL near the Presidential Palace.

“H.E Ahmed Moallim Fiqi reassured the community that despite their recent cowardly attempts in Mogadishu, the war against the Khawarij terrorist gangs is going to continue. The Minister further warned those supporting the terrorists on social media and other platforms”, Ministry of Interior said on X.

The Minister said this at Iftar event held in Daniile district west of Mogadishu together with Minister of Justice, Hassan Moallim, Mogadishu Mayor, Yusuf Madale, Security and Police officers in Benadir region to show commitment in ensuring the security in the capital.

“H.E Ahmed Moallim Fiqipointed out that the location of this Iftar gathering being in the outskirts of Mogadishu is a sign of the peace and security brought on by the Somali Security Forces”, he said, saying Al-Shabaab only brought their dead bodies here and did nothing.

Minister’s remarks came two days after Al-Shabaab carried out terrorist attack at SYL Hotel near Vill-Somalia, killing at least 3 people and injuring 30 others while the attack raised suspicions regarding to the attackers’ access to the area and who fascinated them to do so.
