Djibouti(Mogadishu24)-The Republic of Djibouti has strongly condemned the Israeli bombardment of Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital, which resulted in the deaths of over 500 Palestinians, including doctors, nurses, and mostly women and children seeking shelter in the hospital amid increased Israeli bombings in Gaza.“The Republic of Djibouti strongly condemns the horrific slaughter conducted by the Israel Defense Forces through its bombings on Almamadani Hospital in Gaza, where hundreds of innocent Palestinians were martyred,” stated Djibouti’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.Djibouti highlighted that Israel’s actions in Gaza constitute flagrant and unwarranted violations, amounting to war crimes, and called on the international community to voice their concerns and hold Israel responsible for its actions.“Djibouti confirms that this continuous aggression cannot be ignored, and the international community must abandon selectivity and double standards in applying international humanitarian law when addressing the criminal practices committed by the Apartheid state against the defenseless people of Palestine,” the statement added.Djibouti called for an immediate international response to halt these violations and war crimes committed by Israel in Gaza, labelling them a disgrace to humanitarian law.“Djibouti calls for a serious and firm international stance to be taken to provide immediate protection for defenseless civilians and compel the occupying state to cease its brutal aggression and devastating war on the Gaza Strip, the continuation of which constitutes a disgrace to humanity,” the statement read.The Republic of Djibouti emphasized that the establishment of Palestine as an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital is the key to a long-lasting solution to the conflict in the Middle East.“Djibouti also stresses that the only way to achieve lasting peace in the Middle East is through a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue in all its aspects, ensuring the Palestinian people’s right to establish an independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with the two-state solution,” the statement concluded.The Federal Government of Somalia has also condemned the war crimes against humanity that Israel is conducting on innocent civilians in Gaza.“The Federal Republic of Somalia strongly condemns the horrific bombing of Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital in Gaza, killing more than 500 Palestinian civilians, including children and women.
