Moqokori(Mogadishu24)-Moqokori district in Hiiraan region has for the first time got Primary and Secondary School through joint efforts made by the locals, regional level and Ministry of Education of Somalia after Al-Shabaab militants’ control there.

” Please to complete the repairing and the construction of Moqokori Primary and Secondary School. This is useful project for the locals and future generation in this area to learn and hope that they keep it well, I thank Homilo Construction Company and all stakeholders for their role in implementing the school project”, Eng. Gure said yesterday.

Region’s authorities for Education services handed over the keys of the repaired school to the school management. These authorities also delivered complete books and other school materials which were the main curriculum of the Ministry of Education of Somalia.

The Engineers said that the school was built in 2005, but it was functional during Al-Shabaab’s control and was destroyed, saying that they repaired and enlarged it by adding additional buildings.

Moqokori was among several areas under Hiiraan region in central Somalia where the uprising by locals known as Macawisley forces with the support of Somali National Army liberated Al-Shabaab militants in late 2022.

The Local community welcomed the education service in their district, thanking everyone who contributed the project.
