Riyadh(Mogadishu24)-The President of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, arrived in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on Thursday to participate in the Saudi-Africa Economic Conference, despite health issues that kept him in Abu Dhabi, UAE for a week after undergoing surgery on his left shoulder.

President Hassan was seen disembarking from the plane with his bandaged arm tied around his neck, sparking widespread speculation and concern about his health. Mogadishu24 conducted an investigation to disclose the details behind the president’s mysterious injury.

Eighteen months ago, during a routine exercise session, the president sustained a severe shoulder injury. This action reflects his commitment, resilience, and determination to his duties.

A couple of weeks ago, he went to Abu Dhabi to seek medical services, eventually leading to successful surgery on his shoulder between November 1st and 3rd. Throughout the recovery period, he still maintained public appearances, a trend not commonly known for the previous Somali leaders.

The president continued fulfilling his duties, including participation in international events, particularly the conference in Saudi Arabia, despite having health issues and advisors telling him to remain off duty and minimise public appearances until he fully recovers.

He addressed the country’s situation, especially opportunities for cooperation, and took a firm stance on supporting the Palestinian civilians, calling for an immediate ceasefire.
