Bosaso(Mogadishu24)-Puntland State Security forces captured two foreign, IS militants after conducting an operation aimed at ensuring the security at the mountainous area in Bari region northeast Somalia according to the officials.

The Security officials identified the captives to be Tanzanians namely Imran Mohamed Alawi and Mabrouk Nassor Saidi who were 25 years old.

“PSF successfully captured 2 Daesh members near the strike zone, highlighting the threat they pose to Somalis. PSF remains committed to eradicating these terrorists from the mountainous regions to ensure Somalia’s safety and security”, PSF said on X Friday evening.

A week ago, Puntland Security forces arrested three IS suspects believed to be poising threats to the local business in Bosaso city in Bari region.
