Mogadishu(Mogadishu24)-General Ibrahim Sheikh Muhudin, Chief of the Somali National Army, hosted a farewell ceremony in Mogadishu for Brigadier General Fulvio Poli, the outgoing commander of the European Union Training Mission in Somalia (EUTM-S), who recently resigned.

General Muhudin thanked General Poli for his dedicated service and contributions to strengthening the Somali National Army. He wished him success in his future endeavors.

Brigadier General Giuseppe Zizzari has been named the new head of the EUTM-S, succeeding General Poli.

The ceremony was attended by senior officials from the Federal Government of Somalia, Turkey, the United States, and operatives from the African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) according to the officials.

The farewell highlighted the strong international support for Somalia’s security efforts, with the transition promising continued collaboration and progress.
