Mogadishu(Mogadishu24)-Somali National Army on Saturday conducted military operation in middle Shabelle and Bay regions in the southern Somalia and made progress during the offensive war.

Military officials confirmed that the SNA’s Gor-gor Unit recaptured Run-nirgood district and other areas nearby in middle Shabelle region with out resistance from Al-Shabaab fighters in the morning.

23 Al-Shabaab fighters are confirmed dead and several others injured after Somali army and International Partners carried out an operation at Bula-fuley in Bay region according to state run media.

The Media did not mention if there casualties on SNA side during the joint operation in the two region so far.

Al-Shabaab fighters did not comment on the latest operations in Bay and middle Shabelle region, but the group claimed to have clashed with Somali forces at area near Danile district in Mogadishu’s Benadir region.

This comes a day after eight people were on Thursday killed and five others injured after suicide bomber blew himself up at a tea-shop near main bridge in Jalalaqsi district in Hiiraan region in central Somalia.

It also came as the Somali President Hassan Sh. Mohamed in Dhusamareb, the administrative capital of Galmudug State in Somalia, to wage the second phase of the offensive war against Al-Shabaab. There area efforts to mobilize local forces to engage to liberate Ceel-buur and Galhareri district from the group fighters in the days ahead.
