Mogadishu(Mogadishu24)-The Cabinet Ministers of the Federal Government of Somalia have on Thursday approved important bills and committees proposed by various government ministries.During their weekly meeting chaired by the Deputy Prime Minister Salah Ahmed Jama, the cabinet approved the appointment of three member Executive Committee for the Central Bank of Somalia, following a proposal by the Ministry of Finance.The approved members of the Executive Committee are Prof. Abdullahi Sheikh Ibrahim (Qalocow), Faisal Abdullahi Warsame, and Mohamed Hassan Omar.The Cabinet of Ministers also passed resolutions aimed at strengthening compliance with laws and revenue regulations. These resolutions serve as the foundational tools for the country’s economic reconstruction.The ministers were presented with a report from the Ministries of Internal Security and Defence on the second phase of the offensive against Al-Shabaab.Somalia is currently overcoming several challenges, including civil wars, non-functioning government institutions, and corruption.The federal government has intensified its commitment to combating terrorism and corruption, resulting in huge progress over the past six months.The President is currently in Dhusamareb, the administrative capital of Galmudug State, to scale up the second phase of the ‘Black Lion Operation’ against Al-Shabaab militants.
