Mogadishu(Mogadishu24)-President of the Federal Government of Somalia, Hassan Sh. Mohamud on Tuesday evening sent an invitation to the regional leaders of the Federal Member States to attend the National Consultative Council’s Forum which will be held in the capital on 20 to 21st of April.President Hassan said in his invitation letter to Puntland State, Said Abdullahi Deni, Jubaland State, Ahmed Mohamed Islam, Southwest State, Abdiaziz Mohamed Hassan, Galmudug State, Ahmed Abdi Kariye, Hirshabelle State President, Ali Hussein Gudlawe and Governor of Benadir region, Yusuf Hussein Jimale that they will discuss on national issues including the fight against Al-Shabaab and the completion of the constitution.It is not known weather NCC meeting will happen as the President announced because of the worsening relations between the Federal Government and Federal Members States following amendments made into the provisional constitution by the Federal Parliament on March 30, 2024The Invitation also came hours after emerging developing story that Somalia’s Federal Members States were confirmed to have united their strong opposition against the constitutional amendments in which the Parliament’s bicameral body passed it two weeks earlier.Puntland, Jubaland, Southwest, Hirshabelle, and Galmudug States are expected to issue a unified, joint statement, expressing their rejections regarding to the changes made into the four chapters of the constitution during a planned meeting in Nairobi, Kenya soon according to reliable sources.
