Mogadishu(Mogadishu24)-President of the Federal Government of Somalia on Wednesday received Chief of the United State’s Central Intelligence Agency, William J. Burns and discussed issues of mutual interest including the fight against international terrorism and promoting regional stability.

“President @HassanSMohamud received Director William J. Burns of the @CIA. They discussed regional issues of mutual interest and enhancing Somalia-U.S. strategic partnership in critical areas, including the fight against international terrorism and promoting regional stability”, Villa Somalia said on X post today.

There is no comment from the chief of the U.S’s the Central Intelligence Agency about the secret meeting with the Somali president so far, but United States of America is one of the leading international partners supporting Somalia on the offensive war against Al-Shabaab.

The U.S also expressed concern over the recent diplomatic row between Ethiopia and Somalia following the MoU between Somaliland and Ethiopia, leasing sea access to Ethiopia and supported Somalia’s sovereignty, territorial integrity.
