Mogadishu(Mogadishu24)-Somali Prime Minster, Hamza Abdi on Saturday evening fired his Minister of Finance, Dr. Elmi Mohamud Nur and replaced him with Bihi Iman Egeh in minor appointment and reshuffle made to the cabinet.

The Prime Minster also named Dr. Mohamed Elmi Ibrahim as the new Minister of Labour and Social Issues while appointing Abukar Jeylani as State Minister for Religious Affairs and Sadad Mohamed Nur Aliyow, a State Minister for Interior Ministry according to the Communication Office of the Prime Minister.

In this move, Finance Minister, Dr. Elmi Mohamud Nor was said to be the main target of this changes in cabinet following Minister’s sole decision to suspend Ministry’ General Accountant and Income Revenue Directors over corruption allegations two days earlier.

The Fired Minister said in a twitter post that the Government could only remain on track with good governance and reach debt relief if appointed a qualified staff who can focus on domestic revenue.
