Mogadishu(Mogadishu24)-President of the Federal Government of Somalia, Hassan Sh. Mohamud on Tuesday evening received Ibrahim Kalin, head of Turkiye’s National Intelligence Organization (MİT), at Villa Somalia hours after his visit to the capital.The President and Turkey’s Intelligence Chief discussed ways to further strengthen Türkiye-Somalia strategic cooperation in key areas of mutual interest, including security, intelligence, joint counter-terrorism efforts, and promoting regional stability according to a brief statement from of the Somali Presidency.Somalia’s National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) Chief, Abdullahi Mohamed Ali was present at the meeting.Turkey supports Somalia in areas of security, Education, and health while the two countries signed security, economic and gas explosion pact in March this year alone to further promote mutual cooperation between the two sides. Turkey trained over 6’000 soldiers for the Somali Government according to the officials.
