Hargeysa(Mogadishu24)-The Somaliland National Election Commission (NEC) has officially announced the schedule for the upcoming combined Presidential and Political Parties elections, set for November 13, 2024. This announcement, in line with Election Law 91/2023, marked a pivotal step in reinforcing the democratic process in the Republic of Somaliland.The election schedule, meticulously prepared by the NEC, has been submitted to President Musa Bihi Abdi, who is expected to publish it in the Official Gazette. This act will formalize the electoral process as per the stipulations of the Election Law.The NEC emphasizes its commitment to a transparent and fair election, ensuring that the electoral processes reflect the will of the Somaliland people. Measures are being put in place to finalize voter registration, enhance voter and candidate information dissemination, and to secure the integrity of the election.As the election date approaches, the NEC urges all stakeholders, including political parties, civic associations, the media, and international observers, to engage actively and promote a peaceful, inclusive electoral environment.
