Mogadishu(Mogadishu24)-Southwest State has on Sunday accused National Security Advisor of Somalia, Hussein Sheikh Ali of disseminating misinformation, defending Ethiopian Troops’ role under the African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS)

“SWSS informed that some misguided individuals these days are using social media to disseminate misinformation like #XusenM . @ATMIS ENDF is working hard,& we will be grateful for the contributions in operation/peacekeeping & will continue to exist and take up the role in the state”, Ministry of Internal Security for the Southwest State in Somalia said on X.

Southwest State’s comment came a day after the Security Advisor, Hussein Sheikh Ali spoke about the future of the Post ATMIS, explaining Somalia’s position on Ethiopian army’s role.

“Our position on ENDF’s role in the post-ATMIS mission is unequivocal. As long as Ethiopia persists in violating our sovereignty, territorial integrity, and political independence, we cannot and will not consider it an ally in advancing peace and security in the region”, Hussein said.
