Ankara(Mogadishu24)-Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources of Somalia, Abdirizak Omar Mohamed on Tuesday held bilateral discussion on oil and gas cooperation with his Turkish counterpart, Alparslan Bayraktar and agreed to work together on developing the oil and gas sector of the country.Abdirizak Omar said that his counterpart, Bayraktar expressed Turkey’s support in the development of Somalia’s oil and gas while thanking him for hosting him and his delegation during their stay in Turkey.Acting Minster and State Minister for foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Somalia, Ali Mohamed Omar on Sunday revealed that the two countries’ relations reached new levels of profound partnership.These developments come about two weeks after the two countries signed maritime security and and economic agreement.“The 10-year agreement will help develop the Somali Navy’s capacity to enhance maritime security, protect resources, and combat international terrorism, external threats, and illegal and unregulated activities in Somalia’s territorial waters”, President Hassan said at the time.
