Mogadishu(Mogadishu24)-United States’ Embassy in Somalia donated 96 vehicles including 11 ambulances to the Somali National Army’s elite forces, Danab Unit as part of U.S support to the Somali Government on counter terrorism.

“Yesterday,@US2Somalia donated to the@SNAForce Danab 96 vehicles, including 11 ambulances. These vehicles will help the SNA Danab Brigade improve tactical mobility and counter al-Shabaab. The vehicles were provided by@DeptofDefense and received by Major General Ibrahim Sheikh Muhidin”, The Embassy said on X post.

Somalia’s Chef of Staff, General Ibrahim Sheikh Muhidin received the Chargé d’Affaires, Shane L. Dixon  during an event held at the embassy in Mogadishu.

The Danba Unit is the Somali Army’s special forces trained by the United States and they are about 1’000 soldiers based in lower Shabelle and several frontlines in the south-central Somalia.
