Abu Dhabi(Mogadishu24)-The United Arab Emirates has on Wednesday strongly condemned the terrorist attack that targeted a market in Somalia’s capital Mogadishu, which resulted in a number of deaths and injuries to innocent people according to Wam news agency.

In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) affirmed that the UAE expresses its strong condemnation of these criminal acts and its permanent rejection of all forms of violence and terrorism aimed at undermining security and stability in contravention of international law.

The Ministry expressed its sincere condolences and sympathy to the government and people of the Federal Republic of Somalia, and to the families of the victims of this heinous crime, as well as its wishes for a speedy recovery for all the injured.

UAE became the first to condemn yesterday’s deadly attack in the country’s busiest market, Bakara leaving at least 10 people killed and several others injured after mortar rounds landed into it according to the officials.

Deputy Governor of Mogadishu Municipality, Mohamed Ahmed Diriye denied that the attacks were mortar shells, but described them as explosions in which Al-Shabaab militants were behind.
