Mogadishu(Mogadishu24)-More than 20 Al-Shabaab militants were on Sunday morning killed and others injured after Somali National Army and its International Partners jointly carried out operation at Jicibow village about 30 kilometers north of Bula-burte town in Hiiraan region.

Member of the Federal Parliament of Somalia, Mohamed Ibrahim Moalimuu said that foreign jihadists were among those killed during the operation.

“More than 20 fighters from Alshabaab militant group were killed in an air strike in Ji’ibow village in Somalia’s central Hiran region on early Sunday. According to local residents the militants suffered heavily and all morning were collecting dead bodies and injuries. Among the dead were non Somalis according to villagers. Militants were recently regrouping in the area and might be preparing for an ambush somewhere in Hiiraan”, Moalimuu said on X.
