Qoryoley(Mogadishu24)-At least five Somali soldiers were killed and others including officers were injured after bomb explosion at Forward Operating Base under the African Union Transition in Somalia in Qoryoley district in lower Shabelle region overnight, residents said Wednesday.

It is not yet clear if there were casualties on AU soldiers in the base, the incident created tense between two tribal militias in the town. A soldier was reported to have been killed in the town this morning and opposing armed militias and soldiers are seen, creating uncertainty.

Locals say the two sides might clash anytime.

ATMIS and Regional Authorities did not comment on the blast which was thought to be remote control one that targeted the soldiers and officers holding meeting with ATMIS officials.

The attack comes a day after 21 civilians were allegedly killed and others injured in airstrike operations at Bagdad village near Afgoye district in the same region.
