Mogadishu(Mogadishu24)-The Federal Government of Somalia has welcomed the resumption of significant development projects in Puntland, which had previously been halted. The Minister of Planning, Investment, and Economic Development, Mohamud Abdirahman Farah (Beenebeene), expressed optimism about the Barwaaqo and Somalia Food System Resilience Project (SFSRP).

“We are very excited to see the resumption of these projects in Puntland, signifying a renewed commitment to improving livelihoods,” said Minister Beenebeene.

The Barwaaqo project, focused on water management, and SFSRP, aimed at strengthening food security, are crucial for fostering sustainable development in the region.

“We are dedicated to ensuring these projects reach those in need with transparency and without political considerations,” emphasized Minister Beenebeene.

This development marks a positive step towards collaboration between the federal and regional governments, contributing to a more resilient and prosperous Somalia.

This statement comes two months poor relations between the Puntland State and the Federal Government of Somalia as Garowe said it lost confidence in the Federal Government, following the amendments of the four chapters of the provisional constitution in March this year.
