Mogadishu(Mogadishu24)-Chinese Special Envoy to the Horn of Africa, Ambassador Xue Bing on Tuesday held separate meetings with the Prime Minister, and President of the Federal Government of Somalia on strengthening cooperation between the two countries and regional stability.

“President @HassanSMohamud received the Chinese Special Envoy to the Horn of Africa, Ambassador Xue Bing, who conveyed a message from President Xi Jinping of the People’s Republic of China. They also discussed ways to further enhance China-Somalia relations in matters relating to peace and security in the Horn of Africa region”, office of the President said on X.

Prime minister, Hamza Abdi Barre also thanked Ambassador Xue Bing for his efforts in promoting peace and development in the Horn and expressed appreciation for China’s unremitting support for Somalia.

Chinese Envoy, Ambassador, Xue reiterated China’s commitment to continue its support for Somalia in its journey towards stability and reconstruction. Both sides emphasized the need to strengthen cooperation between the two countries according to a brief statement from office of the Prime Minister after the meeting.

But sources said that the diplomat’s visit to Somalia is maintain peace and stability in the region, and Forum on Africa-China Cooperation which will be held in Beijing this year. He is also expected to pay visit to Ethiopia, Djibouti and Eritrea.
