Madere(Mogadishu24)-Kenyan Parliament member from Eastern Mandere, Hussein Weytan and County Governor, Mohamed Aden Khalif on Tuesday strongly condemned the terrorist bomb attack on a hotel in the town, killing at least four and 12 others mostly Kenyans from other provinces in that country.

“My heart-felt condolence is to the families of the victims, this was terror attack and we suspect it to an IED planted in the area, I don’t know what time. This will not stop us from what we have been doing so far, my appeal to the security team is to increase the issues of intelligence gathering to scale up that so that we don’t have such coward incident within our country”, County Governor said.

He did not mention the terrorist group who carried out the attack, but asked the public to collaborate with the security forces closely, saying this was the first incident since April last year.

Mandera East Member of Parliament, Hussein Weytan also expressed sorrow over the attack in Mandere yesterday, describing to be unfortunate and prayed the dead and wished quick recovery for the injured ones.

” I am requesting people in Mandera to take their role in working with the security forces, in order to bring perpetrators who were behind this to book”, Weyntan said.

Al-Shabaab militants claimed the responsibility for the attack in Mandera and said its fighters killed 11 Kenyan civil servants and injured 8 others there.
