Addis Ababa(Mogadishu24)-Ethiopian Prime Minister, Abiy Ahmed on Thursday appointed his National Security Advisor, Redwan Hussein as National Intelligence and Security Agency(NISS) while appointing Tigist Hamid as the new Information Network Security Administration(INSA).

Ethiopia’s House of Peoples’ Representatives has ratified a series of appointments made by Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, introducing fresh faces into key positions. Among them, Temesgen Tiruneh, the former head of Ethiopia’s intelligence services, has been appointed as the Deputy Prime Minister.

The Ministry of Health will now be led by Mekdes Daba, replacing Lia Tadesse. This change is part of the government’s efforts to revitalize its health sector and improve services for its citizens

These changes happen as the diplomatic relations between Ethiopia and Somalia worsened in the past month following the MoU with Somalialnd, leasing 20 kilometers of sea access to Ethiopia.
