Kenya’s Intelligence Chief, Noordin Haji, arrived in Mogadishu on Friday for an official visit where he met his Somali counterpart, Mahad Salad. The visit aimed at fostering collaboration and engage in discussions regarding joint efforts between Somalia and Kenya to effectively combat cross-border terrorism and address the persistent threat posed by Al-Shabaab.

The discussions will focus on enhancing intelligence sharing, coordinating security operations, and devising strategies to countering Al-Shabaab, and dismantle their networks.

The visit comes at a crucial time when both countries recognize the urgent need to combat terrorism and promote stability in the region. Somalia and Kenya have experienced significant security challenges, with frequent attacks by Al-Shabaab posing threats to both nations and the wider East African region.
