Mogadishu(Mogadishu24)-The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud on Friday appointed of Dr. Abdirahman Abdullahi Baadiyow as the new Presidential Adviser on Reconciliation.

Dr. Baadiyow, formerly the Advisor to the President on Constitutional Affairs, brings a wealth of experience and knowledge in reconciliation efforts within the Somali community.

“The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, appointed Dr. Abdirahman Abdullahi Baadiyow as the Presidential Adviser on Reconciliation. Dr. Baadiyow previously served as the Advisor to the President on Constitutional Affairs,” announced Villa Somalia.

Villa Somalia emphasized the importance of his expertise for the government’s development and the overall progress of the nation.

“With his vast history of holding different positions, he has profound knowledge and experience in matters pertaining to the reconciliation of the Somali Community,” the statement added.

President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud urged Dr. Baadiyow to leverage his skills to contribute to the national plan aimed at achieving comprehensive agreement among the Somali community.

This came a day after the president appointed Mr. Hussein Sheikh Mohamud as his advisor on Constitutional Affairs, a position previously held by Dr. Baadiyow.

Mr. Hussein earlier resigned from his position as the Director of the Presidency for reasons linked to his political ambition.

“Deeply honoured and grateful for the opportunity to serve as Senior Presidential Advisor on Constitutional Affairs under the visionary leadership of President Dr. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud,” Mr. Hussein Sheikh said in an acceptance statement.

Dr. Baadiyow is renowned for his important role in the reconciliation of Somali tribes and his involvement in the Arta conference, which played a pivotal role in re-establishing the government of Somalia.

Two weeks ago, the president appointed Hon. Omar Ibrahim Hashi as the special presidential Envoy on Stabilization and Civilian Protection. He replaced Mohamed Abdi Ware, who has not yet been assigned to any position.

The special Envoy for Stabilization and Civilian Protection will be responsible for controlling civilian casualties in areas where offensive operations are conducted, as well as working on the stabilization of the recently liberated areas.
