Mogadishu(Mogadishu24)-Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, Hamza Abdi Barre on Wednesday received UK Ambassador to Somalia, Mike Nithavrianakis at his office and discussed on bolstering bilateral relations between the countries.The Prime Minister and the Ambassador exchanged views on recent regional developments, highlighting the importance of maintaining stability and peace in the region. “Prime Minister Hamza Barre expressed gratitude for the UK government’s unwavering support and reaffirming their full respect for Somalia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity”, Office of the Somali Prime Minister said on X post.The UK was among the countries concerned by escalating tensions in the Horn of Africa, following the Memorandum of the Understanding between Somaliland and Ethiopia, giving sea access to Ethiopian in which the Somali Government refuted and described it to null and void.“We reaffirm our full respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Federal Republic of Somalia. We urge restraint and dialogue to peacefully resolve issues”, UK Embassy in Mogadishu said at the time.
