Somali forces destroy Al-Shabaab hideouts near Kismayo town

Kismayo(Mogadishu24)-Somalia’s elite forces (Danab) destroyed Al-Shabaab hideouts after conducting military operation against the group at several areas near Kismayo in lower Jubba region under Jubaland State in the past 24 hours.

The State Run media citing Intelligence Agency and Military officials said that Danab, Jubaland State forces and Federal Security Units jointly carried out the operation and covered an area of 120 Km Square.

But Al-Shabaab militants claimed to have inflicted casualties on U.S forces’ Bangraft in remote control landmine attacks a day before.

Such comments emerge as heavy fighting between Somalia National Army, Jubaland State forces and Al-Shabaab militants were taking place today and yesterday at Geriley base in Gedo region where ATMIS forces withdrawn a week earlier.
