Somali Military Highlights Danab Forces’ Role in Al-Shabaab Combat

Mogadishu(Mogadishu24)-The Somali National Army’s Chief, Ibrahim Sheikh, addressed the nation’s security situation and the ongoing battle against Al-Shabaab militants on Thursday.

During a closing ceremony for Danab soldiers who had completed a rigorous three-month training, the SNA Chief emphasized the integral role played by these elite forces.

“Danab forces have been instrumental in combating Al-Shabaab. Their dedication has been evident in protecting our citizens and our nation. Danab’s commitment to Peacebuilding and counterterrorism has brought positive changes and advancements in areas recovered from Al-Shabaab,” stated Ibrahim Sheikh.

Ibrahim extended appreciation to international partners for their support in Somalia’s pursuit of stability and self-reliance. He specifically thanked US forces and ATMIS forces for their unwavering support in the fight against Al-Shabaab militants.

These newly recruited Danab Soldiers, named ‘intake 9’, are set to be deployed across the nation to carry out offensive operations against Al-Shabaab and promote peace within the country.
