Mogadishu(Mogadishu24)-President of the Federal Government of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud received the Russian Ambassador to Djibouti and Somalia, Mikhail Golovanov, at the State House Sunday. The meeting covered various topics, including security, social, and humanitarian issues, underscoring the strengthening ties between the two nations.

Earlier this year, Russia extended significant humanitarian aid to Somalia, donating 50 tons of wheat to assist with food security. President Mohamud expressed his deep gratitude to the Government and people of Russia for their continued support, particularly highlighting Russia’s role in assisting Somalia’s Heavily Indebted Poor Countries (HIPC) debt relief process.

The discussions emphasized the importance of continued collaboration in addressing Somalia’s challenges and enhancing bilateral relations. Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to working together for the benefit of the Somali people and regional stability.
