Dar-es-Salaam(Mogadishu24)-A delegation, led by Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre of Somalia, has arrived in Dar-es-Salaam, the capital city of Tanzania, ahead of the Africa Human Capital Heads of State Summit scheduled to commence on Tuesday.

The purpose of the Prime Minister and his delegation’s visit is to represent Somalia and address the country’s human capital growth priorities at the summit.

Prime Minister H.E.@HamzaAbdiBarre has arrived in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania for the Africa Human Capital Heads of State Summit. Prime Minister Barre is set to showcase #Somalia‘s key human capital growth priorities at the summit while highlighting the need for increased investment in education and capacity-building programs that empower Somalia‚Äôs younger generation” Office of the Prime Minister said in a tweet this morning.

According to the World Bank, the two-days summit will bring a button-up demand to human capital privatization and investments and addresses learning poverty and the skills gap for youth and women.

The summit aims to focus on “linking investments in human capital to economic growth and harnessing the demographic dividend.” Important discussions are scheduled to take place, addressing issues such as learning poverty and bridging the skills gap for youth and women.

The event will serve as an important platform for African leaders to collaborate, share insights, and discuss actionable strategies towards unlocking the continent’s economic growth potential.

Furthermore, the heads of states will also address issues related to regional security, combating terrorism, and finding customized solutions to pertinent challenges in Africa.

Somalia’s participation in this summit highlights its dedication to human capital development and the empowerment of youth and women. Somalia has recently strengthened its regional engagement, seeking to foster cooperation and build bilateral relations with neighbouring countries.
