Madera(Mogadishu24)-Suspected Al-Shabaab militants were on Wednesday night destroyed Kenya’s Safaricom mast in Fincharo, south of Madera county Northeastern Kenya.

According to local FM station, Dawa FM based in Madera, a vehicle belonging to the enforcement team of Elwak municipality was also destroyed while parked at Elwak market.

county officials did not comment on the attack yet so far, but the group often carry out attacks in Kenya’s northeaster parts since KDF’s entry into Somalia in 2012.

Al-Shabaab also did not claim the attack in the region, but the group captured UN helicopter with 8 of its passengers and crew after landing in an area under Al-Shabaab control in central Somalia yesterday.
