Mogadishu(Mogadishu24)-The Prime Minister of Somalia, Hamza Abdi Barre, arrived on Wednesday at the military command of the Somali National Army in Adan Yabal district in the Middle Shabelle region.

The Prime Minister’s visit aims to encourage and motivate the National Army forces and local community forces engaged in the battle against Al-Shabaab militants.

“The purpose of the Prime Minister’s visit is to motivate the brave National Army soldiers and the local forces who are eliminating Al-Shabaab militants out of the remaining areas in the Galmudug and Hirshabelle regions,” stated the Prime Minister’s office.

During his visit, the Prime Minister will also observe the transformations and changes in livelihoods within the recently liberated regions. He will hold meetings with various sections of the communities living in these areas.

This is the second visit of the Prime Minister to Adan Yabal district since its recovery from Al-Shabaab terrorists.

The Prime Minister’s visit comes at a time when President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud is in Dhusamareb, the administrative capital of the Galmudug regional administration, to escalate the offensive against Al-Shabaab.

The Minister of Interior, Ahmed Maalim Fiqi, is in the city of Harar-dhere, while the presidents of Galmudug, Ahmed Abdi Kariye, and Hirshabelle, Ali Guudlawe, are at the frontline of the war, motivating the troops engaged in the ongoing operations.

The presence of senior leaders and various military officials on the battlefield shows the government’s commitment to liberate the remaining areas in the Hirshabelle and Galmudug regions from Al-Shabaab.

On Tuesday, President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud reiterated the government’s determination to continue fighting until the country is fully liberated from the threats of Al-Shabaab militants.

“We will continue to fight and won’t step back until we achieve the final victory we are aiming for,” President Hassan said.

The Prime Minister’s visit at Aden Yabal Military command comes barely three days after deadliest attack on SNA forces at Cowsweyne bases in Galgudud region by Al-Shabaab which created criticism and anger from the public while some people were calling for the president to take an action against the Minister of Defense and Army chiefs who were accused of being behind the military failure.
