Ankara (Mogadishu24)-Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan spoke to Somali President, Hassan Sh. Mohamud by phone, expressing solidarity with Somalia’s territorial integrity following diplomatic row with Ethiopia.

President Erdoğan said Türkiye stands with Somalia in its fight against terror as well as regional and global matters and that the cooperation between the two countries will increasingly continue.

“Tension between Somalia and Ethiopia should end on the basis of Somalia’s territorial integrity”, Erdogan said.

“ President @HassanSMohamud spoke by phone with President @RTErdogan of the Republic of Türkiye. President Hassan thanked President Erdogan and the brotherly people of Türkiye for their enduring friendship and unwavering support to Somalia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty”, Villa Somalia said on X post.

President Hassan also had a phone call conversation with counterpart of Uganda and addressed bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest.

“President Hassan Sheikh spoke with President @KagutaMuseveni  of Uganda. The call addressed bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest and Somalia-Uganda security cooperation. Under ATMIS, Uganda has been a steadfast ally in progress towards restoring peace and stability”, Villa Somalia said.

Earlier, The European Union, Arab league, African Union and other countries including United States of America showed solidarity with Somalia regarding to the diplomatic row between the two neighboring countries and called for a respect to the sovereignty of Somalia.
