UK Ambassador holds meeting with Puntland State President

Garowe(Mogadishu24)-UK Ambassador to Somalia, Mike Nithavrianakis held meeting with Puntland State President, Said Abdullahi Deni at the State House in Garowe and discussed issues related to the latest developments in the country.

UK Embassy said Sunday that their discussions focused on three areas including UK partnership with Puntland, the importance of dialogue on key issues like constitutional reform and how the UK can support economic growth in the region.

Puntland State its self confirmed the meeting with UK Ambassador in Garowe city yesterday, saying that the democracy in Puntland, speeding up development projects in which UK carries out there and strengthening collaboration between the two sides.

The meeting came as the relations between the Federal Government of Somalia and Puntland State remained worse, following the approval of the four chapters of the provisional constitution by the Federal Parliament of Somalia a month earlier.
