Mogadishu(Mogadishu24)-United Nations Security Council is on Monday expected to hold special meeting of the latest situation in Somalia according to United Nations Assistance Mission in Somalia today.

Catriona Laing, Special Representative of the UN Secretary General for Somalia will the council about the latest developments in the country.

“The #UN Security Council will hold a meeting on the situation in #Somalia at 6:00 p.m. (#Mogadishu time) on Monday, 19 February – those briefing it include @UN Special Representative @CatrionaLaing1“, UNSOM said on X.

She’s expected to include her report about the country’s progresses like debt relief, lifting arms embargo, joining the East African Community and challenges like the fight against Al-Shabaab and the conflict between the two neighboring countries, Somalia and Ethiopia following MoU between Ethiopia and Somaliland.
